Snow White and the Huntsman

Mirror Mirror on the wall... How was "Snow White and the Huntsman" after all?

I wasn't into watching this movie at all. I even tried to once but I gave up after 15 minutes or so. Yesterday I gave it second chance (anything is better than studying anatomy, right?)...

I'm not a fan of Kristen Stewart, nor a hater but she really ruined the movie with her poor acting (or was it the script?). When someone mentions "the Kristen Stewart face", everyone knows what does it mean: blank stare + open mouth. And that's pretty much the problem you have to deal with watching any movie she's starring. Well, now we at least know how she got/remained the leading role. The little girl that played Snow White at the beginning had me entranced and everything seemed it was going to be fine but then she grew up. Imprisoned by the evil queen, Ravenna, who married and killed Snow White's father, escapes when she finds out the queen is willing to kill her to become immortal. Presumably because of the trauma of being imprisoned for quite a few years made the girl almost speechless. She doesn't say much (at least not as much as you'd expect form the lead female) throughout the 2 hours the movie lasts, except for her poor and rather unconvincing warming up speech before the battle. Not funny at all.

Buuuuuuuuuuut, there's the Huntsman, the most believable character, played by Chris Hemsworth! Dirty, charming, rough and lonely. Add it to speechless, said to be the most beautiful (question mark here... WHY Kristen Stewart, why?!) girl causing troubles, equals a good material for love story. It almost got me excited but soon my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. No passion, no fireworks. Normally, I'd say "still better love story than Twilight" but I won't.

Is there anything making this movie worth watching? YEEEES! Those are MAGNIFICENT  British landscapes (England and Wales), totally breathtaking and stunning pictures by Greig Fraser and beautiful music in the background by James Newton Howard (while watching the movie my friend was pretty sure the music was done by the same guy who composed for The Lord of the Rings).

Plus, excuse me, but who the hell came up with including Christianity in a fantasy movie? In just one scene? That is the question we'll never get an answer to.

Oh, I'd almost forget about the little thing that made it very hard to focus on the plot- every actor was speaking with different accent, how comes?

Reading the original fairy tale is still more exciting, especially with a pic of Chris Hemsworth by your side. Or you'd just better go watch "Mirror Mirror" (more beautiful people, me likes!). ;)
